I have been out of blog mode because my lovely wife and I took a trip to Paris, Brussels & Amsterdam.  What an awesome time we had reconnecting after some crazy ministry and life times.  Yes, it was chilly but when you step into a gallery like the one above, the warmth of the colors and of the scenes helps you leave behind winter and bask in the glow of the impressionist. This is the Orangerie Museum in Paris and it was probably our favorite because you were able to take pictures there. It is not every day that you get to pose with a masterpiece. We are in front of one of Monet’s huge water lilies panels. Absolutely beautiful!!! Check out this close up of the brushstrokes of the yellow sunset portion of that painting.

Downtown in Memphis

What a great opportunity Laurie and I had this weekend. We were able to get away to downtown Memphis and play the tourist. It was a blast. We ate some delicious food — Sauces, The Majestic Grill, Cafe’ 61, Bluff City Bakery. We listened to some music on Beale — Beale Street on a Saturday night? We have NEVER done that. It was packed because of the Music Fest.

Wish we were there!! The “there” in this picture is the eastern shore of Kauai. What a beautiful place.

We are back from this great vacation to the reality of Winter in Memphis. We went from 75 and Sunny to 34 and Rain. It is always good to be home but wish we could have transported the weather back with us.

Hawaii Bound

Yes, blogging will cease and vacationing will begin. Can’t wait. Will return in a couple of weeks.
